Fort Augustus to Inverfarigaig

A few kms into Fort Augustus for a cafe (Spar) & crap pie (tis not Oz 🇦🇺) Caught up with the Glen Way hikers, then back onto the route with an immediate photo looking up Loch Ness. I only saw a 🦆 This was then the start of an never ending climb …

… but the later part of the day treated to some delightful trails through open farmland & brooks 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍🏻 Finished with another steep switch-back but topped with an open sky wildcamp ⛺

Inverfarigaig to Clava Cairns

Morning low cloud on the hilltop wildcamp ⛺ Then cycle further above the cloud. With tent out drying & filter coffee brewing I then became a tourist attraction as buses offload on the northern end of Loch Ness 🦕 Nessie soon was forgotten! …

… next Inverness. Pleasant small city, but after a groceries store I’m cracking to get out of dodge & away from people! So much so, I forgot to get a photo of anything Invernessie, except for a posh hotel! Heavens started to look heavenly ⛈️ Wildcamped on a quiet picnic spot ⛺

Clava Cairns to Slochd Summit

My wildcamp spot was next to the Clava Cairns historical site. Now meandering along the official Eurovelo 1 🇪🇺 in 🇬🇧 ‘Ironic’! Through Three Bridges over one! Wildcamp settled early up a steep climb onto the moors just before the Cairngorms National Park.

Slochd Summit to Balnespick

… chatted to a lovely lady who had cycled the 🇨🇦 Great Divide 🇺🇲 Arrived at Boat of Garten railway station for a snoop around & 5 mins later this beauty turned up 🚂 Steam engine heaven I was …

… the station too was from another time 🤠 Topped the day with a wildcamp literally 10m off the route on an open, breezy spot …

… unfortunately days can easily be ruined by a minority.Sadly these are hard to forget! The checkout
@coopuk Aviemore (14June) was serviced by a women who had the personality of a wasp 🐝 about to sting! No patience & utterly miserable. Worse experience on this journey by far ☹️
