After a pleasant afternoon in Collie (motel included). The following day starts with an easy cycle lane westwards out of the mining town. Watching out for swooping magpies though. No joke, they’ll swoop.

Collie to Nglang Boodja hut … an easy day in comparison to others. Descended into Honeymoon pool for a brief rest. Made it brief too, before anyone had any ideas of using the location as an excuse to leverage a proposal 😨

I’m all for rest days 🚳 and soaking up the bush… no vehicle 🚗 noise, no people 🚷, nothing 🚫 Bliss ❤ So a rest day here ensued.

While here, took to some camp admin. It’s a case of getting yourself a big-bushy-stick and sweeping OR just hand it to someone else ⚠

There’s a very good feature on my Olympus TG5: macro. Capturing the power of an ant in all its glory. The bee wasn’t favoring too well, though!

While meandering along on the trail, all of sudden, three adult Emus crash though the bush 50 metres in-front of me. WOW … felt very Jurassic 🦖

Arriving in the fruit picking town of Donnybrook. A lot of backpackers (European) here for the fruit picking season. Cheap labour!

The plan generally is to fill up with water and head out the other side of town. But fate played a simple hand, after been informed of a ‘Transit Park‘ (municipal camp ground) in town. We embedded ourselves there instead. Cheap and no one else around … sweet 👍

The next day en route to Jarrahwood, there’s a detour due to timber harvesting. As with all other detours or closed trail sections, these are all well sigh-posted and marked. And of particularly use is the Parks and Wildlife Service website. Especially information on prescribed burns or wildfires.

According to Wikipedia, Jarrahwood is a small town. It may have been at one stage, but it’s more of a location now. This is the only hut that sits near a small gathering of houses. Still peaceful though till the roster kicks off at 0100 hrs 🐓

As with all the other hut locations, there’s ample cleared spaces provided for tents 🏕
